Placenta Previa?

My husband and I discovered that I have placenta previa on my fetal survey at nearly 19 weeks.  My doctor believes that the placenta may move back into normal position as the babies grow, but in the mean time advised me to take it easy, reduce walking, etc.  I will be followed up in 4 weeks, then every 2 from that point on with ultrasounds.  I also have a 9 month old at home....has anybody experienced or is experiencing the same or similar dilemma??

Re: Placenta Previa?

  • They discovered the same thing at my 18 week u/s and I was put on pelvic rest but told that this is very common with twins and that it usually corrects itself as your uterus and the placentas grow.  At my 22 week u/s everything was normal (and I was taken off pelvic rest) and I haven't had a single complication since.  I hope everything goes well for you!!
  • Mine was "marginal" and I didn't have any restrictions. It did correct itself in a month or so. Good luck!

  • They discovered mine at 12 weeks.  It resolved on its own by 28 weeks.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Yeah, I had a low lying placenta at 18 weeks, put on pelvic rest, it corrected itself by 26 weeks I think.

  • I also have PP and was also told that it normally corrects by the 3rd tri. It is common to have bleeding episodes, I had several. I would take it very easy, especially since you have a 9mo old.

I had complications after a bleeding episode and delivered at 31 wks.
