when did u set up baby swing, and other items?

I recieved my swing a while ago, and have just kept in the box. We have a few other items as well, but haven't taken anything out yet.

Baby is due in about 5-6 weeks, as long as he stays put that long.  I have the cradle in our room ready, and the changetable but that is it.

Any insight would be helpful

My H couldn't wait, so anything that has shown up in the house (except the carseats) has been set up. The swing has been up since 28 wks. ::sigh::

But it is giving the dog time to get used to things, so that's good, but I'm still glad we haven't had my shower yet.

I just brought the swing up from the basement last night....so it is already in the livingroom. I also have the bouncer seat out.

I put everything together as we got it, that way it would all be done.

everything except the car seat were set up by 32 weeks.

my shower is Sunday, so I have no idea what my house will look like after that!!!

My kids are older, and no pets so really no one has to get used to stuff being in the livingroom.

The furniture we put up as soon as we got it in, but we waited until about 34-36 weeks to put up the pnp and swing in the family room.  We wanted the dogs to get used to it all.

I am only 31 weeks and set mine up last week when i brought it home.  I was a bit too excited, I guess:)  I'm sure you would be fine waiting until the week before.  It wouldn't take up as much room that way (not as many obstacles to trip over)

We are going to set ours up as soon as we get them.

We just want to make sure we have enough time for our dogs to get used to the new items as well as start training them to stay off of all things baby realted.

We had everything set up when we bought it all.. which was around 30 weeks.  We have a small space, so it setting it up was really the best choice for us, versus having big giant boxes everywhere. Besides, we were really excited to play with it all! hehe

The swing is so cool! I can't wait to use it!

Swing, and bouncy seat around 21 weeks (it was given to us).

Crib around 22 weeks, then the glider and dresser around 25 weeks.

I think I'll wait until I'm at least 37w this time. We don't have a separate nursery for the baby (DD2 is in it now and will move in with DD1 when this LO moves out of our room around 4 months) and I don't want the girls playing with and breaking the stuff before the baby is even here.

The only things we'll need out are the swing, the baby papisan and the co-sleeper. All of those things could wait until the last minutes (as long as everything is washed), even while I'm at the hospital. I'll actually probably have DH set up the co-sleeper while I'm in the hospital so it doesn't take up all the room before we even need it.

You should do it any time you're ready. For me - I'll wait a little longer b/c I have to keep my toddler out of it. On the other hand, I don't even want to be setting that thing up when the baby is brand new and here. So I'll probably wait another week or so.

I set everything up as we got it- I wanted to make sure nothing needed to be returned. The things that we arent going to use for awhile either went back into their box and put into the basement or were just put in the basement w/out a box.

My DH installed the car seat at 34w and I had it inspected by the police this week(37w).

I've started packing for me and the LO slowly

Ours went up as we got it.  All that is left needed in the nursery is well the baby.  We kind of have the swing and bouncy sea tin there as I figured they would be in the way in the living room and are light enough to move around.  Now the bassinet is sitll in the bursery but it will move to our room closer to the due date so we can get the dogs used to it....even though they have been in the nursery sniffing around at everything already!  As a funny side note my corgi mix actually laid on the playmat and started nosing the ball toy attached to the side of it...priceless.

I have yet to set up the swing. We are going to wait until he's born, and DH will put it together. Everything else is ready to go.

We set everything up around 33-34 weeks just to get it done and not have to worry about scrambling at the end.

The swing, bassinet, and even the highchair have been up for a few weeks now.

We have four cats and want them to get used to it. 

The nursery set came a month earlier than we were told it would; so it too has been set up for a few weeks now (we paid for them to assemble it).

we set up our swing when we got it at 20 weeks...mostly because we were excited, but also so we don't have to do everything at once when i'm less mobile
