do i pay the dr. bill?

Insurance adjusted the claim for Ethan's 2 month and 4 month ckup incorrectly. They should have paid more or all of it.

Do I wait to get my EOB and new bill?

And ladies, check those bills and ask questions ... even if you're like me and don't know exactly what you're talking about!

Re: do i pay the dr. bill?

  • Something similar happened to me. I called the billing person for my pedi's office and told them the situation. I did not pay the bill until it was put through correctly.
  • I would not pay.  Call your doctor and explain to them, which is usually enough to prevent them sending you to collections, and then call your insurance company to make sure they are taking care of it.  I wouldn't pay anything until your insurance company gets it right though.

  • Can you look at your EOB's online? I was looking at some of mine the other day and saw that some things were billed as out of network when they should have been in network. I would look into it and see if you can find out what went wrong and then call the insurance company.

  • Wait.  I have had to have them conference call insurance to get it right.
  • No, don't pay it.  Assuming you have already called your insurance co, call your doc's office & let them know what's going on & that you're waiting for insurance to get it straight so they can note it in your file.  I can't tell you how many times I have gone back & forth with insurance co's and doctor's offices because of billing errors on both of their ends.  I have learned that you have to look EVERYTHING over very carefully!

  • I would call the dr and tell them you will be calling the insurance company because they should have paid more. I had a problem with my insurance not paying for an ultrasound last year during a misscarrige. It should have been covered 100%. I called blue sheild theysaid the recived the bill but I guess they pay part of my montly payments to allcqre ipa they said all care should have paid that bill. I got the number called allcqre the hospital never sent them the bill I gave them the info and they took care if it right away. So it may be something as simple as your insurance has someone else pay some bills and the doctors office did not send a bill to both places.
