Cleveland Babies

Just wanted to show appreciation.....

I had an emergency c section at 30 weeks. No complications prior to that, but found out I had HELLP syndrome.

I delivered at Akron General. My OB/Mid Wife was through Paragon...and I always said great things about that practice. After going through what I went through this past week, I can honestly say I owe my life to them. The doctor who ended up being on call was one of the male docs from Paragon, Dr. Davis. He was a really nice doctor; however, all the care I received, and the follow up care that I continue to receive from Akron General and Paragon has been amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Kirven from Paragon, she is the doctor who I saw the most during my traumatic experience, and have decided to continue with my post partum check ups with her. I will continue to use my MidWife-Alice Gordan through the same office for annuals like I have always done, but as for my doctor option, I love love love Dr. Kirven.

Like I said, I received amazing amazing care through Akron General and cannot thank them enough.

Just wanted to post this for all you locals who still may be looking for suggestions on where to go.

  • Wow, HELLP syndrome is serious stuff. How are you recuperating? Hopefully you have family support during the postpartum period. I know recovery from that can take awhile!

So glad you are doing okay!

  • Dr. Kirven performed my c section at General hospital as well.  LOVED HER!!
  • I don't have any experience with General, but I'm not surprised that you had awesome care from Paragon. Alice delivered both of my other kids (though that's the only two times I've ever seen her, since I go to a different office) and I've loved all of the midwives I've seen (between my three pregnancies, I've been to three of their offices due to moving) and Dr. Burkett was awesome when we had our loss last year. I would recommend Paragon to anyone in the Akron/Canton area.

So glad everything worked well for you and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

    Ella is finally here!
