I love Dr. Seuss and grew up reading his books. But now that I'm an adult reading them to my boys... woah!
"This one, I think, is called a Yink. He likes to wink, he likes to drink. He likes to drink, and drink and drink. The thing he likes to drink is ink. The ink he likes to drink is pink. He likes to wink and drink pink ink. SO... if you have a lot of ink, then you should get a Yink, I think. "
An excerpt from One fish two fish red fish blue fish -the craziest of Dr. Seuss. I want an imagination like that but think it would require some LSD.
Re: Was Dr. Seuss on drugs?
Yeah, the boys will sit through the whole book. They love them.
i need to get that book. and i'll take a little pink ink... it's friday
his stuff is the best! this morning we did "the foot book". their first book was his ABCs and they still love that book.
Sorry can you tell i miss teaching:) I have to go pack up my Kindergarten classroom today:( and say goodby to my class, I let the sub use my stiff and today is the last day of school....now i am on to my new job a SAHM
too funny! hope you don't have them stashed away somewhere
Interesting. Makes sense, though. Sorry you had to say goodbye to your class. You'll have three babies and a toddler that will reap the benefits of your teaching skills and will love to listen to you read Dr. Suess, though. I only work 2 days a week but wish I was a complete SAHM. Enjoy!
He was more of a political writer than most people know. I don't think that it had anything to do with drugs, I think it was more of a way for him to talk about topics that were important to him and disguise those ideas with those nonsense devices to hold the interest of the readers.
Also, just because someone has an imagination, I don't necessarily think that means that they are taking drugs. I could mean that they didn't forget what it's like to be a child
