is this just for getting your LO to sleep on their own?
My DD goes to sleep fine on her own, she just doesn't STAY alseep! ugh Wakes up a few times and im one tired mama. Usually its to eat or put the paci back in.
Yes and no - what you need is for her to go to sleep on her own when she is not hungry, wet, or sick, so this includes in the middle of the night. Ferber can help you make sure her sleep associations do not require you (or the paci), and can help you spread feedings if need be.
It definitely can be used for those middle of the night wakings. DS is totally capable of falling asleep on his own, but he does wake several times a night wanting to eat. So...in a few weeks we're going to start Ferber for eliminating some night feedings. I think once he's not accustomed to being hungry at night, he'll sleep better. DH & I just need to talk about how we want to tackle it.
