Who wants to help me with a middle name?

DH and I have been discussing the name Heidi for our little girl. I know that this is not everyone's style, but we both have strong German roots. At first I wasn't too fond of it, but it's really starting to grow on me. What middle names do you think would go well with Heidi? I personally love Heidi Grace, but DH isn't too keen on Grace. Last name rhymes with Camden. I have found that names that start with vowels and D don't go well. And go!

Note: I like asking about names here instead of the baby names board because I know you and value your opinion more than theirs.

Re: Who wants to help me with a middle name?

  • I was going to say Grace...My neighbors daughter has a Heidi Brooke. I think that's pretty but I am partial to Brooke since its DD's name.

  • Heidi Jane is the first thing that came to mind. Do you have a family member who you would like to name DD after? I like using family names for middle names.

    Mae

We live in the south and I was afraid Heidi Mae sounded a little too country bumpkin. It's cute though!

DH suggested Leigh and Marie, but I also thought the -ee sound was a little too repetitive with Heidi :-/ I may be overthinking that though.

Grace as a middle name is a bit overused, IMO.  Like Ann back in the 80s.

I also think the name Heidi is adorable!

    So, my votes:

    Heidi Elizabeth

    Heidi Rose

Heidi Rose is cute! I'll have to throw that one at him and see what he thinks.

  • I like Beanie's suggestion of Heidi Rose. That sounds pretty.

  • I love Heidi Rose too! Definitely the best suggestion so far!

I am EXTREMELY partial to Leigh.... and I spell it the same way too :)

  • First, LOVE Heidi.

I like the ideas of Heidi Rose & Heidi Leigh.

Do you have a grandma, aunt, etc who has a name you wouldn't consider as a first name, but that would be a way to honor them as a middle?

Not really. None of their names would go with Heidi at all. Although I don't know their middle names, which could be an option.

  • I love Heidi Mae, or Heidi Rose.
  • I had a friend named Heidi growing up (I love the name by the way!)  - I think her middle name was Michelle.  I like Heidi Rose...

  • When you said Heidi Grace, I thought of Heidi Faith.  I love the name Faith.  Although I like Heidi Rose suggested in PP too!
  • I think you started with a great name combo "Heidi Grace" is lovely!

what about a German word for grace, like Heidi Anneleise or Annelie for short?

    Heidi Anneleise

    Heidi Sofia

    Heidi Marie

Again, I think you already have a wonderful name in Heidi Grace, good luck and thank you for sharing your baby's possible name with us!
