Repost from 12-24 mon:
DS has had on and off diaper rash of varying looks and severity for 6 weeks now. We have used all the different creams, anti-yeast, anti-fungal, etc. I looks better and almost goes away and then comes back (he is in daycare during the day). I have no idea what to do to make it go away once and for all.
We use sam's club wipes and currently target diapers. Any input on what else to try? He has never had diaper rash before this, we rarely even used the cream. I'm considering switching the brand of diapers and wipes again. Cloth diapers are going to be a last resort if nothing else helps. We are also at least 3+ months from any intention to potty train. Any help or input would be appreciated.
Anyone use 7th generation products? Could this be the weather (sweaty skin) and the chemicals in the diapers causing the rash...
Re: Diaper rash help...
We have had to get prescription antifungal creams from our Dr. Before.
We have also alternated plain lamisil with A&D for a few days. That seems to do it fast. I am not a fan of the Maalox mixture though.
We use a prescription antifungal (nystatin), then slather triple paste over it. I've found that it takes the rash away almost instantly, but I need to continue the triple paste for a few days afterwards to keep it from coming back.
We use Target diapers for Ava with no more issues than we had when using Pampers....
we've been using nystatin for a week with Zoey and it doesn't look much better. I have a dr. appt. today for her and will let you know if I get any other good tips. We try to let her air out some between changes but it's hard with 3 babies...
