BRU shopping spree

I went to the store last night with all of my returns with the intent to buy some items left on my registry.  I returned a small stroller, swing, bathtub, bumbo seat, receiving blankets, washcloths, wall decals, crib sheet, changing pad cover, fleece sleep sacks and I'm sure more items that I'm missing.  Some of these were duplicates, some I had too many of and the stroller and swing were my "2nd choice" items because they no longer carry the ones that I wanted in the store.  She did my credit and then asked if I wanted it on a gift card.  When she saw all the gift cards that I had, she combined them for me.  I ended up with over $800 on my gift card!!

I then bought our extra car seat base, some bottles, some diaper genie refills, cotton sleep sacks (the replace the fleece ones,) bottle warmer, bottle sterilizer, bottle brush, 2 pack-n-play sheets, some baby hangers, sleep positioner, a gift for a shower that I have in a couple of weeks and probably a few more things that I'm forgetting.

But when I got home...I ordered the things online that they don't carry in the store.  I got a bouncer, swing, umbrella stroller and the Rockabye Baby Bob Marley CD

After all of my purchases, I still have $260 left on the card.  I'm so excited that we now have nearly everything for the baby.  It's feeling so real now.  I can't wait for our crazy week to slow down so I can get everything set up already.  After all this waiting, this is finally the really fun part!

I hate to admit, but he was right all along: I should have waited to do any shopping until after the shower!  He doesn't care now because that's what these gift cards were for.  He's probably going to start b*tching about all the crap we have now though.  The baby's room is filled with stuff as it is.  I can't imagine how bad it's going to be when the rest of the stuff that I ordered comes in...

Ash- As for all of the gift cards that we got in addition to getting nearly everything on our registry, I attribute that to being Team Green.  It was by far the most economical reason for waiting to find out the baby's gender.  Hardly anyone got us clothes.  I have enough stuff to last us without having to buy anything, but I don't have a closet full of white, green and yellow clothes that will go to waste.  I'll bet that if I knew the sex, I'd have a ton of pink or blue clothes instead of all of those gift cards.

Congrats on getting that taken care of!  I'm tempted to take a friend's advice and pull all clothes off of our registry especially since I'm getting hand me downs from another mom.  My mom is bringing them and she said it filled the back of her small SUV and they are only 0-6 months.  At least with a little boy people don't go as clothes crazy as they do for a little girl (which I understand why now with a market flooded with girl clothes).  We're considering adding the bedding set we want to the registry but buying it online cheaper and if we get it from BRU, taking it back and using the credit to get other stuff.  A bit sneaky but there could be worse things we could be doing, I suppose.
