Growth spurts blow

I'd almost forgotten what this felt like... it's like we have a 1-month old again. Up every 2 hours at night. Won't sleep in her crib - only with us, on me, or in her swing (which she hasn't done in ~2 months).

I'd love to go back to last week. I'll happily take back my no-nap baby over one who's moody all day and doesn't sleep at night.

  • awww, but she's so cute! ;)

I totally feel ya.  I get a good few weeks out of Sam and then she starts waking up again. It sucks. lol

  • four months suck suck suck suck suck (at least in our household.)

I know the last thing you want is another book to read, but I can't recommend The Wonder Weeks enough.  It doesn't tell you how to solve it, but it does give you a reason for it all happening and makes it easier to get through (at least it did for me.)

  • same boat with the 4 month sleep regression.  She's almost 6 months and these last couple of days have gotten a lot better.  She only wakes up around 3 times but goes right back to sleep when we give her a paci.

I have it! KNJepp recommended it to me a couple of months ago. Her 2-month leap wasn't very obvious - I probably wouldn't have even made a connection if it weren't for the book.

And I was just wondering last week when we'd see the 4-month growth spurt and if it would be any more obvious than the last one - HA!

  • The four month period lasted until six weeks for us.  There was just no break.  The good news, in our experience, is that after six months she went to just one quick feed a night, then started STTN at nine months.

This was us exactly.  four month period lasted for what seemed like forever but all of a sudden one week he started waking only once and then it was all night around 9 months.  It's rough but you'll make it through!  I was more tired during the four (5, 6, 7, 8) month wakeful than I was when he was a newborn....ugh!

  • no joke--I don't miss those at all!

Love the pictures--it is TOO cute!

  • I feel ya. We are in the 6 mo growth spurt now and it sucks. My complaint is that C wakes up around 4am...my alarm goes off 5:30. It is really hard to get good sleep after that.
