I am in huge need of recommendations for a Daycare in the Hollywood area. I am torn, DH and I refused to the idea of sending DD to daycare, at least not until she was 1 1/2 but unfortunately we lost our nanny and we cannot find anyone within our budget.
It has been so difficult to cope with this, for one I work from home so I had many little moments I could spend with her and on the other hand our nanny is someone who has been with the family for over 20 years but is having some personal issues she needs to resolve.
At this point we don't have a choice and I don't know anyone with kids in this area that can help us out.
TIA!
Re: Daycare in Hollywood rec's please!
I'm so sorry about your nanny situation. DH and I really wanted to get a nanny, but couldn't find anyone within our price range to come 5 days per week. We ended up going the daycare route and it has been great for us - DD loves it and gets excited when we pull in the parking lot each morning. I have some recommendations, but I'm a little further north than you are (Dania Beach/Airport area) so I'm not sure that it will help.
St. Maurice was my favorite, but the schedule didn't work for us. It is techinically in Dania Beach, but just across the street from Hollywood. It is a Catholic church, but there isn't really a religious element to it, it is just a daycare in a church. I felt like they had the most to offer kids. Tons of staff in the baby room, and the teachers seemed to really try and "teach" the kids things once they left the infant room. There are also dance and P.E. programs when they get to the age of 2, which I liked. They also made sure that the kids got outside time, and have several strollers to take the little ones out. Unfortunately for us they close at 6, not 6:30.
Buttons & Bows and Imagination Station are also just off of Sheridan. Similar schedules and same amount of money. We picked Buttons & Bows. I liked the staff there, the security is good, and I liked the set up and schedule. They have tons of staff and they love DD. I don't think we will stay there past two - we will probably try to move her over to Nativity, but for now it is a good choice for us.
I never went to check it out, but I have a friend who absolutely raves about Creative Beginnings in Hollywood - you might want to check them out too.
I hope this helps! Good luck in your daycare search!
