Arg! I have had stretch marks across my belly for a while now - they haven't bothered me and I've been applying lotion at least x2 a day to help minimize further damage.
Today, down near the bottom of my belly they started sting like they have paper cuts or something! Anyone else?? Any recommendations?
Re: Stinging Stretch Marks
girl I FEEL YOU!! I didnt have any stretch marks til 38 weeks 4 days!!! Sadly,, mine seem to be multiplying daily & they STING too!! I take a bath and put oil on me at night(and then i lotion up in the a.m. too but the oil feels pretty good at night after a bath) but by the end of the day -- that stinging is back -- i suggest changing positions for instance, if you sat upright all day,, even walking in the evening may feel better -- i think that constant pressure just multiplies them,,,,
GL !! ,,, to us BOTH
I will def try the bath, oil, lotion sequence - it can't hurt!
You're almost at the finish line!!
mine is from pelvic bone to a little under my belly button atleast 5 in long and a inch and half wide it was sunken in and now all of a sudden the skin as puffed out and feels swollen and mine doesn't sting but rather feels like a sun burn, and painful to the touch.
i use lotion a lot during the day nothing helps i asked my OB he basically said theres nothing to do for it.
I'm planing on trying Mederma or BioOil afterwards.
Thank you - you're too sweet!! The picture is at Gore Place in Waltham, MA - DH and I got married there and then I decided to do my maternity photos there too. :-)
I'm sorry you're dealing with it too. I'm thinking about trying BioOil afterwards too - fingers crossed it works (or mederma)
thanks for the photo info & what a cool idea -- i feel like i will be pregnant for another month so maybe i will go do the same (where i got married ) !!
p.s. I have heard that the VERY expensive (but worth it) STRIVECTIN works for stretch marks -- it is currently sold for like $180 even at costco & it is advertised for anti-wrinkle lotion etc but my mom has used it for a couple years (for wrinkles) and swears by it,,, i have also read from other women that it DOES work well for stretch marks !! I will be using that as well as bio oil if bio oil doesnt stink like its silly commercials I feel like IM always seeing now !!!
I had PUPPS and one thing that really seemed to help was that I stopped wearing anything that had a full panel. That way there wasn't anything really clinging to my tummy. Also my midwife gave me a Rx for a really strong version of hydrocortizone(sp?) can't remember off hand what it is called. That was a life saver but, it's really greasy so I only wore it at night with crappy t-shirts b/c it would leave grease stains on stuff.
