DS has yet to do the "mamama" "dadada" instead he babbles, "hey, hey, hey, hey". We find it hysterical and joke about how he's ready for when we head down to the shore.
I swear that Tegan says, uh-oh, hey, hi and love you, all the time! I know that she doesn't know what she's saying, but this is what it sounds like. She's said mamamamam and dadadadad a few times, but not consistently. I do think her first word just might be "duck" since she seems to be obsessed with ducks. She loves her rubby bathtime ducky, her ducky bathtub and she loves the duck button on her exersaucer, lol!
She does a few consonant-vowel sounds like ma-ma and ba-ba. My mom loves when she does the "ba" sound because it almost sounds like grandma in vietnamese!
Jack's been on a tear lately with his babbling. For a while he loved "dadadadadada" but has now moved on to "bob bob bob bob bob" which we find hilarious. The past two days he's been obsessed with the sound "ph." He makes a "ma" sound on occasion when he's really upset and crying. The only other sounds I can think of right now that even sound remotely like words are "ub" (might be trying to say up - he only does it when he's in his carseat) and "buh" (might be trying to copy us saying book - who knows though.) Babbling is so cute!
His first definite sound was Gee (hard G, not like "oh gee, look at that")
In the past 2 weeks he's been babbling "Ba ba ba" and "Ma ma ma" a lot.
Sometimes he YELLS something that sounds like "Hiiii" or "Hey."
ETA: Don't know how I forgot this, it's my favorite: usually only at night, or when he's on his changing table, he whispers "Disssss." It cracks me up.
This was a good post - I think it's so interesting, and cool that someone else's LO is also saying "Gee," for example. It's amazing!
