We used Enfagrow Gentlease when he turned 1, probably 12oz/day. He didn't tolerate whole milk well at all! But we only needed it for two months or so and then he did just fine on whole milk. It's expensive, but worth it if I didn't have to change his clothes 3x a day and clean carpets!
nope - I bought one can b/c we were heading to mexico - man that chit STANK! very sugary sweet, too, which ticked me off. Ava hated it, too.
BUT, Ava has always been average height, weight, etc. We switched to WCM at a year, and I'm pretty anal about her balanced diet.
We also do smoothies each morning with flax, poly-sol, and a multivitamin, with fruit and yogurt. and she thinks broccoli is candy.
So I'm able to get in all her RDA that way.
I personally kinda think it's just the formula companies trying to keep your money coming in.... I never hear peds push is unless the kid has weight issues.

DD had/has weight issues, and we were told to use pediasure or add carnation instant breakfast to her milk. I wasn't happy about the added sugar, but DD needed to gain weight.
Our Pediatrician told us that toddler formula was the same thing as pediasure or instant breakfast, but marketed specificially for toddlers to make it more expensive.
Our pedi mentioned this for Itty bit when she turns one with her weight issues, I am glad you asked this question.
