Flying with a Doc Band

I am taking my daughter (who wears a doc band) on the plane this weekend. I was wondering if anyone who has had a child that wore a doc band if they had to take it off in security? Or if there were anything else I need to be concerned about while flying with her? What were your experiences?

Re: Flying with a Doc Band

  • Good Question! My son has one too and we'll be flying eventually ... curious to see answers.

If I had to guess, I'd wait and ask the security people ... Otherwise I hope there's no extra issues w/ flying w/ it.

How's your little one doing w/ hers?

  • She seems to be happy with or without it! It is kinda funny right after I put it on she shakes her head "No"! When she first got it she would bang her head on the chair. I think she just wanted to see how it sounds. How about your little one? How long has your DS had it?
  • My baby has a DOC band too.  I bet Cranial would write you a little note for security explaining it's an orthotic device, not a baby-head stink bomb.

  • We flew while DD still had hers on and they didn't make me take it off.  We just walked right through the security thing, no questions asked.  They even let me keep her inside the Bjorn.
