We were talking about our SIL who will be having their third in July, and MIL starts talking about how SIL is so sick this pregnancy and has been sick every pregnancy and MIL just doesn't understand how that could possibly BE, since MIL NEVER once got sick with her three pregnancies, so SIL MUST be doing something wrong if she's sick all the time.
W.T.F woman. Your daughter-in-law is not even blood related to you. To think that HER pregnancies should be ANYTHING like yours is absurd, not to mention the fact that EVERY woman is different, and that YOU ARE NOT a better mother for never being sick during your pregnancies, and never needing a c-section after 30 hours of non-progressing labor... Wow.
Re: Fun new fact I learned about MIL
You should hear some of the things I hear my IL's say in reference to my BIL & SIL and the boys. Some things would make your head spin. And my BIL grew up to be the biggest @sshole ever, so I really just want to be like... you can't seriously be giving advice on how to raise children?! lol.
Re: the morning sickness thing...
When my friend M was PG she didn't have any kind of morning sickness at all. Ever. She was saying that her mom was sick as a dog with all 3 of her pregnancies, but her MIL wasn't sick a day with any of hers. I just thought that was really interesting. It's probably a fluke since M & her MIL aren't blood related... but it does make you wonder.
Oh, I feel for your SIL. (And you, in advance, should you ever be in that position.)

Heard something along these lines before from my OWN mother.
I only had nausea (all day) in the first trimester (thankfully) but when I mentioned this to my mom after we told her we were expecting she declared that she NEVER had morning sickness. And acted like I must be doing something wrong if I had morning sickness that a few saltines couldn't cure. Which is funny just because growing up she always said that she would have crackers by the bedside for the first few min after she woke up early in her pregnancy to settle her stomach. So no morning sickness? Yeah right. :rolls eyes:
Funny enough, when my MIL was pregnant with DH she had really bad nausea in her first trimester (which sounded remotely like mine). So I kept blaming DH for his genes that was making me nauseated.
With a sense of humor of course which he was fully aware of.
I definitely feel for your SIL and BIL. Unfortunately you'll know what will be said when your time comes around for little ones. Ugh!
