Parenting with Love and Logic - the early years (6 months thru 5 years?)
Parenting the Strong WIlled Child. - had some of the simplest and most effective tools even if the child is not strong willed.
Now reading Playful Parenting and like it a LOT.
Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
I haven't read them yet, but Elizabeth's school follows the practices of Conscious Discipline and the developer of that program has two books that are supposed to be good:
Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline
There's got to be a better way
After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!
Secrets of the Baby Whisperer for Toddlers. I like that she goes into the different personality types for children and how to handle these types of kids. I have used some of her suggestions on my "touchy" personality toddler and have found them very helpful. She was always a more hands on baby, where as her twin is very laid back, "easy baby" as most people would call her.
As we have started into the terrible two's she is more challenging and I have found that recognizing she is this type of personality helps me to deal with her tantrums and I need to approach her differently then I do her twin. What works for one doesn't always work for the other. That being said, I am consistant when it comes to discipline with both of them because they need to know what is acceptable behavior and what is not. But day to day activities and group play time, I know what she can and cannot handle.
