But have no idea where to start! We just moved back to our home state of Louisiana (Baton Rouge) and we need all of the information we can put our hands on. If you guys have any general details you can share or if you have experiences to share or information about the adoption process in Louisiana (Baton Rouge or New Orleans) I'd love to hear it. I'm not sure how long the process takes, how you'd go about "finding" a child to adopt...I'm totally clueless but we know that this is something we want to do. Nothing will stop us from sharing the love we have with a special child. So, please, any and everything you can tell will be appreciated. Thanks!
Re: We want to adopt!
Ditto fred. We started with an intro adoption book, and it helped us decide which type of adoption (domestic, international, foster) and which avenue (law firm, agency, facilitator) was best for our family. And it gave resources on how to find the law firm/agency/facilitator in our area to get started.
GL and post often!
Hi there from a fellow Louisianian! Are you interested in domestic, international, or foster-to-adopt? This is really going to influence the direction you go, as PPs have said... I'd start with an intro book on adoption, then look into agencies/attorneys/etc. from there.
GL! If you have any Louisiana-specific questions, feel free to ask... We have looked into international as well as foster adoption.
