I really like this name. Isn't it a Polish form of Angela? But I do think you would have to tell people how to pronounce it alot.
Yes it is. It was my grandmother's name.
That is information you probably should have included in your OP.
If it is honoring a family member, than I say go for it. It will cause some pronunciation problems, but they are easily fixed by correcting the speaker. I think it's pretty.

I like it... And I am Polish, so I had no problem pronouncing it. ; ) I wouldn't worry about other people mispronouncing... I don't see the big deal. The people who matter will know how to say it, and you'll correct someone else the first time, and they should get it after that.
Me, too. I think it's pretty but I think it will cause too many pronunciation and spelling problems. I'd use an alternate version (Angela, Daniela, etc.) or use it as a MN.
Whenever the OP has to tell us how to pronounce it, or clarify if it is a girl or boy, I wonder what they think is going to happen in the real world. If you have to clarify it now, how is it going to change when the baby is born? (steps off soapbox).
That said, I do think it is not too bad all considered. Maybe if you spelled it Anella? I realize it wasn't the spelling of your grandmothers name...but I think it would still honor her. GL!

Re: WDYT - Aniela
I honestly had trouble pronouncing it even when you had the phonetics written out....
I agree with PP. It looks like you spelled Amelia wrong.
Ohhhhh. now that makes sense.

This exactly. It's pretty when said the right way but I would have never gotten that from that spelling.

Ditto!
I thought it was An-neel-la
