Hello everyone,
I am new to this board and I am so glad I started reading it. I have had three months in a row where a got a BFP and then a few days later a BFN then started my period. Back in April, after I got the BFP, I went to the dr's office for a test which the urine test came up negative and the hcg test came up as a 3. She said I probably had a chemical pregnancy. Last week, I went to my regular doc to try to find out what is going on and he informed me that he didn't believe in hpts or chemical pregnancies!!! He said there was nothing he could do for me until I had another positive hpt and for me to come in immediately. I was shocked to say the least. I started reading this board and read all the tests the women are getting. So I scheduled another doc appt with another practice. Just got back from that appt and they were wonderful. She didn't act like I was crazy and scheduled test to get started tomorrow.
So it is thanks to this board that I changed docs and will start getting test run tomorrow
Thanks ladies for sharing!!!

Welcome!!
I'm sorry your dr was ummm...not supportive/encouraging? And doesn't believe in HPT's and chemical pg's? Does he still believe that the rabbit has to die first? There is so much help out there (if you need it) to get pg, why wouldn't he rec'd you go to a specialist? Boo!!! I'm glad you went and found someone else on your own.
Good luck!!
Welcome and good for you for being your own advocate!! You really have to these days!
One thing (among many) that I learned from these boards, is that you should never take Clomid unless you are monitored by an RE. Many OB's including my own, will write a script for it...but there are risks associated with it. One woman on TTGP had a rather scary ordeal.
Me: AMA, DOR, undetectable AMH, carrier of SMA, MTHFR homozygous C677T, high cytokines, low IGg B cells, Factor XIII V34l mutation, High Anti-Phosphatidylethanolmine, borderline hypothyroid and mildly insulin resistant.
MH: No known issues, aside from MTHFR.
Recommendations from RI: LIT, Humira, IVIG, Lovenox, Baby Aspirin, Folic Acid, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.
Currently taking: Pre-Natal vitamins, Foltanx, Low-dose synthroid and Metformin.
When cycling also taking: Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, Humira and IVIG.
TTC since 7/11/09..with medical intervention starting in 2010, including 4 failed IVF's and 6 failed IUI's...only "success" was a chemical pregnancy in 11/2012 (credited to use of DE).
FET #1 (11th cycle) on 8/23/13 = BFN.
FET #2 (12th cycle) Transfer of last two (day 6) donor egg blasts on 1/22/14 = BFP, EDD = 10/10/14 (please stick little BOY!)
