I just got my first BFP ever from IVF#2. Nurse called and said congrats you are pregnant, BUT (my heart sank here) -- my hcg levels were low for 12dp5dt -- My number came back at 67. She said that this number is very low for this point (17DPO) and that most of the women with numbers this low do not go on to have a viable pregnancy. She did say she has seen a few in the many years she has worked in the IVF center (1 women had a hcg at this point at it was 13 -- she went on to have a viable pregancy), So, there are sucess stories, but more times than not, a low number like this will end in a miscarriage. She made it sound like there was really no hope...
Anyone that has had a similar situation and had a successful pregnancy? I need all the hope I can get -- as it's so hard to remain optimistic. I go back Friday for a second beta.
Re: Success stories with low HCG levels
With my first pregnancy (IVF) I had low AND non-doubling betas...they're in siggy. He's going on 18 months old now. Hang in there!!
I got pg on a break cycle so I don't know the exact dpo. But I wasn't counting either which tells me I didn't catch it early. My first beta was 33 and it only went up to 45 two days later. I was scared to death. The third time it jumped to 187 and quadrupled the next time. So some babies are just slow-starters.
Hang in there! I know it's tough and scary, but it COULD turn out just fine. Keep your chin up.
