I signed ds up for swim lessons at the one pool in town that has a small heated teaching pool- I very specifically chose to do lessons there for that primary reason.
Started lessons yesterday and the teaching pool is closed for repairs. It has been closed for weeks, so they certainly had enough time to notify parents if needed. Instead they put all of the kids in the big pool for lessons and said that they will move us over to the teaching pool when it is repaired (not sure when that will be.)
Here's the thing: kids were miserable because the water is the big pool was soooo cold! Ds was literally shaking, on the verge of tears and turning blue. My friend said that it took her son over 30 minutes to stop shaking once they got home last night. Besides the cold, the big pool is deeper and over ds's head so that makes him even more nervous/scared (keep in mind that he's in the absolute lowest beginning class for kids who can't swim at all.) I don't think many of the kids got a single darn thing out of the lesson- they couldn't concentrate or relax due to being so darned cold and scared!
Would you complain? Ask for a refund? Or, would you just stick it out?
