Zantac for nausea

Has anyone's doctor recommended Zantac 75 for nausea?  I've been so sick for two weeks and finally called the doctor yesterday with the hopes of getting a prescription for zolfran.  But instead, she suggested I take one to two tablets of Zantac 75.  I haven't heard of anyone else taking this.  Do you think it's weird?

I know some people that take zantac for nausea from a hangover, so I can see the logic- it's worth a shot.

I had been complaining of my sickness on my facebook and EVERYONE that commented back said that if they were not able to get Zofran, the took Zyrtec?!  But I had not heard anything about Zantac?  Interesting as I have been taking it for heartburn and have not noticed a difference in my nausea? I'll be interested to see if this is helping anyone?

I took Zantac during my 3rd tri with DS. He was sitting so high that my stomach was all squished and my gag reflex was really easily triggered.  It worked like a charm, although it seemed to be treating a very specific physical issue which I'm not sure is a great parallel to 1st tri m/s.  But, I'm not a doctor.  Worth a try!
