9 month wakeful? Help please

DS normally sleeps well. We've done CIO within the last month. Lately he's waking up around 11 or 12 every night. We let him cry for up to 30 minutes. He is screaming and and I can't take it, so I go and get him and bring him to bed with us. Last night DH took him and fought with him until 1:45. He finally fell asleep in DHs arms, but then DH put him in his crib and he started screaming again. He fell asleep after 40 minutes of crying. Then was up again at 2:50. This time I went and nursed him and was even willing to nurse him to sleep, but as soon as I put him in his crib he was screaming again. He goes to sleep fine at bedtime, but always wakes up. What can I do? He's got a nightlight in his room and we've tried different temps.  Its beginning to really wear on me and I'm frustrated. TIA

Try giving him some motrin a half hour before bedtime...could be teething?
