Pregnant after a Loss

appt. question

I'm new to this board as of yesterday, and I have a question for you ladies. I have my first beta draw today and another next week. My first appt. is on June 25th. I will be 6 weeks, 4 days. Will we be able to see anything on the u/s? I know we won't hear a h/b, but we didn't get to see anything last time and would love to be able to see something when I go to that appt. Thank you ladies, and I'm sorry if this is totally a "noob" question!

Re: appt. question

  • I think many people can see a hearbeat at 6w4d...were you charting so you are sure of being 6w4d by O date rather than LMP? The h/b may be on the slower side at that point if it just started, since it starts right around 6 weeks.

  • I wasn't charting. I know around the date that I O'd (going off of opk's). Should I start from that date, or stick with LMP? Thanks!
  • Fertility Friend calculated based on when I O'ed which was what the U/S confirmed and not based on my LMP. If you know what day you O'ed in your cycle it is helpful to know that way you can tell your Dr and they won't freak if you are behind or whatever your LMP on the U/S. good luck!

I'd wait to see how LO measures then and go with that. I just ask because O date can be much later or earlier than day 14 which OBs use to estimate your due date from LMP, which can freak people out if the OB says "You should be 6w4d based on LMP" but you really O'd on CD 20, putting you at only 5w3d or something like that and you don't see what you should for a 6w4d u/s.

If I go off the day that I O'd, I would only be 4 weeks, 2 days (vs. 6 weeks, 4 days) the day of my appt. So I probably won't see anything on that u/s?

this.  My BFP cycle I O'ed on cd 29.  The u/s tech at my first u/s was expecting the baby to be measuring around 9wks b/c of LMP, but I knew I was only 7wks based on O date.  Which kept me from freaking out, since baby measured right on at 7wks.

    Good luck!!

  • Thanks ladies, I need to chill out and just wait for the appt., but that doesn't seem to come easily for me, and I'm sure you all understand this very anxious feeling!
