If you give your child juice, what kind do you give them? I was going to try him with some watered down apple juice...what should the ratio of water to juice be?
I don't give dd juice to often because I know to many 3/4 year olds who still won't drink water only juice. Usually when she does get it I prefer white grape b/c I heard it's easier on their stomache than apple. Either should be fine, and I usually do half and half.
I did give her a splash of apple or white grape in her sippy cup to try and get her to drink more (she had issues with getting a little dehydrated) but she didn't drink any more than if she just had water so that's all I give her now.
I get the organic kids juices from Whole Foods that are supposed to have a lot less sugar....then I water it down more. He just finished off a bottle of carrot apple i think and now is drinking blueberry pomegranate.

I will give a splash of apple juice in her sippy of water. It's enough to make it a little sweet. I usually only give this once every 2-3 days. Make sure you get 100% juice.

We only do 50/50 juice/water when she is constipated.
Ditto. We try prunes first when she's constipated, and if that doesn't help we give her 50/50 juice/water in a sippy, not a bottle.
We get 100% apple juice or 100% prune juice.
I don't want to get into the habit of offering her juice throughout the day. While she is still oblivious to what she's missing, we will stick with just water. I know once she is older and around other kids, we may not be able to keep that up - but while its still in my control, I see no need to give her juice just because.
I've done 50/50 before but I only gave it to her because I had to dilute an iron supplement I was giving her. Pedi told me not to give her juice and I agree with him because my nephew drinks juice all.the.time..he is 2 1/2 and I never even see him drink milk, its horrible, so I am too scared of starting a bad habit.

I would just do a splash and not in a bottle.
