Just Wondering...

I randomly think of names that I like and pass them by DH to see if he likes them too and then we put them on a list for when we pick names for our LO (when I'm actually pregnant). Our first boy is only a couple months old and his name is Nolan. Recently I've decided I really like the name Noah, but DH thinks it will be weird to have Nolan & Noah. We're not even thinking about having another one yet but I just want some outside opinions on the name.

I really love the name Noah, but it is just way too similar to Nolan.

i think they are a little too similiar. granted you should name your children whatever name you want, they are your children. i will tell you this..... in my family we have tyson, taylor, and tanner, and my mom and grandma mix them up al the time!!! they will say " Tanner! er taylor! er YOU!! whoever you are! LOL!! they just get mixed up all the time.

I agree with the PPs. Definitely too similar. Nolan was our boys name with our first and we decided on it by combining a favorite name of mine (Noah) with a favorite name of DH's (Dylan).

They are really similar, but if you can't find another name that you love as much as Noah, I say go for it. It wouldn't be the first time siblings had similar names and it's not the end of the world.

Also, about getting them mixed up/confusing similar sounding names...my name and my sister's name are NOTHING alike and my mom still called us by the wrong name sometimes. It's just what happens when you're saying more than one name multiple times a day.
