You said you had Mastitis the other weekend, right?
Did you wind up with a blister on your nip? I had one, and now it's basically gone, but there's still a little cracked skin and a hole where the blister was. It hurts like hell to nurse on that side... is this supposed to be?
I called my obgyn the other day about it and he was no help. His secretary (girlfriend) is away and he is a disaster without her running the office. While I was on the phone with him I could tell he was doing 10 other things and he told me to put vasoline on it and don't nurse on that side I didn't follow his instructions because I dont think he was paying attention to what I was saying, so I just continued to nurse as bad as it was, and apply some lanolin when I was done. Was taht the right thing to do?
Re: Kim
Hey Kris, I didn't have any blisters I had a hot, swollen mass of knots for lack of a better word that where the plugged ducts were which resulted in fever, vomiting, chills, etc. Once my fever broke the swelling when down in my boob I just had a couple ducts that we about the diameter of a pencil. Luckily all that only lasted a week and I am 100% better now.
I guess if I were you I'd keep appling lanolin and just pump from that side so that there is no direct sucking to irritate the blister KWIM?
