I don't want to start some big thing over nothing, and maybe it's not a big deal, but I was wondering if I'm the only one who'd rather not see people working in the adoption field actively pursue clients on this board.
I don't mean to imply that I don't want them to post here, just that I don't think this is the place to flagrantly advertise their services. Karalee, for example, has been a wonderful member and is always thoughtful and helpful, without crossing the line by recruiting clients.
Technically, I suppose so. I'm hoping that if the poster would like to join our group, though, she just stops those types of posts, and we can all move on. Like I said, I'm sure she has lots to add to our conversations, I'd just prefer the advertising be checked at the door.
FWIW, i don't agree with trying to get clients here, nor do i agree with bm's looking for pap's here either. This should be a neutral area for info and support.

mom2emb, thanks for link. I couldn't find the post either.
yes, I agree that the specific post crosses the line. I don't think advertising her business within the body of the post is appropriate.
Everyone is welcome here as we all have unique and varied experiences to share. This board is pretty safe because we all respect and honor other's viewpoints and feelings and maturely (without flaming) agree to disagree sometimes.
This person is welcome to share her experiences as an adoptive parent and her journey details in a generalized way. I'm sure that there are interesting and helpful tips that we all can learn from her path to parenthood. I respectfully ask the poster to join us in a non-commercialized way and support us as we walk that road and we, in turn, can help her too somehow. There is so much give and take on this board and that is what makes it so wonderful.
TTC #1 for over 5 years - too many to count IF treatments (tried everything and anything), repeat miscarriages.
Finally, Sticky Success!! B/G Twins arrived 2011.
I agree, she posted on my thread too about how many failed matches...
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! Expecting again after IVF
I thought that it was against the nest and bump posting standards to promote and advertise your business. Wouldn't this fall into that realm?
Now that you mention it... I think it might fall into that realm.
Out of curiosity, did anyone report that post? Should it be reported? I don't normally report anything (even far crazier stuff than this) because I don't like to cause drama.
I did not report it because I wasn't sure if it just made me uncomfortable or if it was the type of thing we, as a group, wanted to prevent from being posted in the future. I just fear it will lead to a bunch of "use my agency" type posts, and I worry that since we get so many posters unfamiliar with adoption in general and the many scams out there, that someone might be put unnecessarily at risk.
I guess I was hoping this is something we might talk about to find where people's comfort zone lies.
I'm new and don't really know anything about reporting people, but I definately though the posts were inappropriate. And it was on 2 different threads, which kinda put a red flag up for me, that maybe she's only on here to promote her agency. Which is definately not what this board is for.
But maybe she just doesn't know any better, maybe this thread will be enough to make her realize that it was inappropriate.
After 2years TTC and 1yr,2mo waiting for an adoption match, our blessing is here!
"You may not have my eyes or smile, but from that very first moment you had my heart"
I reported it as advertising. I think it's totally over the line and I agree with pp who said that I would hate for other agencies to post with a specific view to attacting business. I just feel like we're all vulnerable enough, we don't need solicitation on this forum!

I totally gave that the side eye, but was reading on my Droid so I didn't say anything.
Do you know how to post from your Droid? Hit reply, and as soon as the "Post" button comes up but before the format menu bar at the top appears, hit the stop X. Only problem is you obviously can't format, and you can't use paragraphs. Still worth it!
Dude--that would assume I know what my login is, so that I can log in. I am not confident in my ability to come up with this information.
It's me... the one who is the topic of this feed. I am very sorry if i offended anyone.. that was not my intention. I am just so excited that we were blessed with our son and so quickly that I love to share my story with everyone I meet. I only want to help everyone looking to adopt find that perfect match. So again I apologize if anyone feels I was out of line or inappropriate. I have deleted my posts and I will not "advertise" adoption answer again. If I offend anyone again please message me directly - I had no idea that anyone was upset until a friend messaged me about this feed. Thanks and God Bless

This thread really wasn't intended to be a backhand or anything. I really did simply want to know if I was the only one it made uncomfortable. We have repeatedly told the bump that we don't need a mod and that we try to collectively moderate the board. So, before I asked you to stop or called you out openly, I wanted to know if it bothered anyone else or if I was just being oversensitive.
I'm sure we'd all love to hear your story, and to learn from your experience. Please do stay and share.
Re: {Looks Down} Appropriate?
{Raises Hand}
It may be completely innocent but that was my initial reaction.
I'm with you on this, too.
Did i miss a post?

Maybe it was the last post in this thread?
