Formula feeding moms - what to do with bowel cramps?

Our little Sam has difficulty pooping. He does let out gas, but no poopy diapers all day. I have added a drop of organic vegetable oil to his formula and am waiting to see whether it helps. But are there any other remedies I can try? I feel so bad, he's obviously in pain but there's nothing I can do to relieve his bowels....

    My Doctor recommended Dark Karo Syrup...(you get it at the grocery store)..she said 1tsp a day in the formula should get the poops coming....

    For me, Fanny gave me some you tube links with massages to do for babies who are gassy, and they definitely helped her. G went 7 days without pooping before, and now poops everyday, but it took her until she was about 5 weeks old to poop more than once every 3-4 days....

    We dont' really have to deal with constipation, but the PA at my pedi's office said while Mari ripped a huge fart while she was taking her temp rectally, that a little vasoline on a rectal thermometer works wonders for constipation.

    I'm not sure how bad the constipation is, but Anderson had/has it BAD.  He is on preemie formula that is already predigested to help.  It has been the only think that works for him, and we have tried it all.  Sadly it is pretty expensive, but anything to ease his pain.
