Clomid users please help.

Hello ladies.  normally i post on TTCAL however after posting some questions over the weekend the girls directed me to you gals for more insight.  For anyone who has taken clomid how many cycles did you take it for before getting pregnant? did it lead to twins,? what dosage did you take?

They have me on 50mg on days 5-9, i take it at night to avoid side effects.  This is our first try with it and just had some questions about it. Thanks in advanced for the help!!

Hi! I took It at night too. I was on 100mg, I think. Same days as you. I took it one cycle, it made me o earlier. I also did the trigger shot. I skipped the next cycle but it still made me o a bit earlier. That is the cycle I got pregnant. Good luck!

I took clomid for only one cycle...I took 50mg on days 3-9 and still used OPK's and my cbefm and got peak days 8 days after my last pill. I also took them at night. I charted with temps also. you can look at my chart to give you a better idea...

It only took one cycle and we got our ((fingers crossed)) sticky baby!

I got my BFP my first cycle on clomid.  I took 50mg on days 4-8 (not normal I know). I also triggered with Ovidrel and did an IUI. I did get pregnant with twins, but lost Baby B at 9 weeks.  Good luck.

I took Clomid. I had 1 failed round and then paired with Follistim I got pg. Yes I am pregnant with twins. But I think it was from the gonotropins not from the Clomid. Good Luck! Its not bad at all.

I took clomid because I stopped ovulating after my first miscarriage.  Before that I always had very regular periods.  So...I probably didn't need clomid other than to jump start my body after the first loss.

I took clomid on three separate months and got pregnant with it all three times.  Each time it was with a 50 mg dose.  I lost the first and second clomid pregnancies.  The third clomid pregnancy is my current one.  So yes, I was in the 8-10% who get pregnant with twins on it.

I took 50 mg Clomid on days 5-9 also.  It made me O later (CD 18) but other than that had no issues with it! I got pg on my 1st cycle and unfortunately lost that baby.  Had to wait 2 cycles to start again.  Then got pg again on try #2 and i'm now 32 weeks!!

Stay positive because it can be hormonally frustrating when you are taking that stuff! 

I also took 50mg at night (check BFP chart for days - somehow I'm thinking 3-7?).  The first month, I had no idea how dry I would be at O time.  I personally think that month wasn't successful because of the hostility of no CM.  The second month, I bought Preseed and we were blessed to be having this LO.

With Clomid, I had no clue that I was PG.  I just wanted to test early because I wanted to stop taking the progesterone to bring on AF. Order PreSeed now to have it in time!

Hey! I took clomid for one cycle (50mg, day 5-9), charted and used OPKs and got pg on my first cycle and I'll be 34wks tomorrow! I also used Preseed because clomid can really dry you up down there and can make BDing very uncomfortable. I highy recommend using Preseed.

I did 100mg of Clomid for my Clomid Challenge=BFN, but we found that Clomid would work for me

50mg Clomid & Ovidrel+TI+Prometrium= 2 follies, BFN

50mg Clomid & Ovidrel+IUI+Prometrium=2 follies, BFP (singleton)

While taking Clomid at night might help with any immediate side effects of swallowing a pill, it will not prevent Clomid's side effects. My RE laughed at me when I told him why I was taking it at night. See, Clomid's effects builds over days and weeks and as it builds in your system, the side effects will also build. There is no way to avoid those side effects, save for luck of the draw.

In the unsolicited advice category: Are you seeing an RE? Is your doctor monitoring you with blood work and ultrasound? Clomid can cause cysts and too many mature follicles, so proper care is vital. Many OB/GYNs do not provide proper monitoring. Since you can only take Clomid for so many cycles over your lifetime before the risk of cancer is increased, you want the most bang for every cycle!

We got pregnant our first month of using Clomid.  Took 50mg (I think) CD 3-9.  I did O a few days later than normal.

Glad it only took 1 cycle because that stuff totally messed me up.  I felt like I was bi-polar.  I had 4 days of feeling GREAT and the rest of the month I just wanted to stay in bed and cry.  I didn't want to talk to anyone or do anything...but sob uncontrollably.  It was horrible.

No twins for us either...and they run in my family too!

It took me 4 cycles (3 at 100mg, 1 at 200mg, a very strange protocol).  I had three follies the successful cycle, but just one baby in there.  Multiples rate on clomid is 7-10%.  About 80% of women ovulate with clomid, 50% become pregnant within 6 cycles.  Good luck!
