Does anyone else's LO go to bed really late....and maybe 7 weeks old is too early for me to start a sleep schedule and please tell me if it is....But lately G is going to bed later and later every night...She will not go to sleep until 12-1am, she will sleep until about 3am, wake up to eat, than sleep till around 6 or 7am, wake up to eat and than sleep again until 9:30-10:00am...
I want her to go to bed earlier at night and than wake up earlier in the morning, BUT she has another plan....Her last feeding is around 10:30pm or so and I can lay her down in her bed and she will talk to herself etc, but she will not go to sleep...eventually at around 12ish she starts crying and wants to eat..I feed her and than she passes out...
Is there anyway to change this now, or is it still to early??......
Re: Sleep ?
Nathan went through this right around this age, and this is when we began our "routine". We would give him a bath around 8 - 8:30; feed and lay him down in his crib. At 7 weeks he was still waking up around midnight and then again around 3-4 to eat again. It wasn't until around week 9 or so that we dropped the midnight feeding ( he slept through it) and around week 12 that he started sleeping through the night.
Now 8:30 is too late for his bath, and if we don't give it to him by around 7:30 - 8 he is super fussy. By 8:30 he is well fed and sleeping.
I was told not to start sleep training until atleast 12 weeks. I may be a bad person to answer because I didn't really start till 10 months and am not big on schedules.
When Kash was first born, he also had a 1am bedtime that later moved to 3am. Around four months, he naturally started changing this. Once he figured out days and nights, he went to bed earlier and earlier. I just followed his cues and now he goes down at 8.
