umm I made a mistake already on IVF!!!!

I was just told that I am not supposed to wear a tampon with the AF do to IVF! I am on day 2 and go in for day three testing tomorrow. Why do they not tell you this in the beginning? I have been wearing tampons for two days now and was not supposed to. Granted I have heavy cycles so they are changed every two hours!

I hate the fact that they don't tell you everything! Has anyone else heard of this?

This is one I haven't heard yet....maybe no one talks about it, but I wore tampons for my IVF and they never told me not to.   I also didn't have day 3 tresting done in my cycle though...but even for my orignial day 3 testing they didn't say I couldn't wear tampons.  I'm sure you will be fine!

I've not done IVF, but that sounds so strange.  They didn't tell me that when I did my CD3 testing either.

I am very curious as to why it is not allowed. . .

I think it has to do with the ultra sound or something.  I don't know for sure. I am not going to worry about it. They didn't make a big deal about so I am not going to either.

I am a rule follower and it is tough to do when you don't know the rules!

I've done 3 IVF cycles and never been told this (or heard of this). If it's for us, then I doubt it's a big deal. Good Luck!!!!!

I was only told no tampons after my egg transfer... (why I would want to use a tampon in the 2WW is beyond me!), but they said it was a precaution...

I've not done IVF, but I had a natural m/c in March and apparently I wasn't supposed to wear tampons.  My dr. never mentioned this......just told me that it would be like a heavy AF......and that is how I treated it. 

I hope everything is ok........I don't know why you wouldn't be able to use them.  If you get an explanation, let us know.  GL moving forward with you IVF!!
