mailing in a resume & cover letter- fold into letter or big envelope?

I am applying for a p/t job. I'm not sure how to mail this. They don't accept it via email, which is fine, but it is going to a PO Box. Should I send it in a regular letter and do the tri-fold? Or should I get a big envelope and send it w/o folding it?
Not sure what to do. Guess if it is a small PO Box a big envelope won't work. WDYT? Does it matter? Maybe I am over thinking this.

thanks!

  • Don't fold it.  Big envelope will be great!.  You don't want it to be a hassle for the hiring manager to review your resume.  No staples, just paper clips. They will appreciate a nice neat pile when they take it out of the envelope. Folded papers don't lay flat on a desk.  Just my opinion. Good luck with your job! I sometimes wish I was working at least p/t.

thanks, the only thing I'm worried about is what if it's a small PO box that it gets squished in, oh well. I think you are right though it will look nicer not folded.

I had been toying with the idea of P/T work. I think it would be a nice balance now. I've been pretty selective about where I've been sending my resume. and to be honest, this job is the one I would want the most of all of them.

    thanks again!

  • big envelope

  • I'd do the big envelope.  If they do have a very small PO Box, the post office place will set it aside and they will still get it intact in the big envelope.  Non-folded will look better.  Good luck!

  • You're overthinking it.

Put it in a big envelope.
