I have researched this on kellymom, and think that this is what is wrong with my left breast. I have been using warm compresses and have tried to remove some of the stringy fatty milk that has clogged it up. However I still have one spot that is super painful and it is starting to make my entire breast hurt. Yesterday it was so blocked that I could feel a lump where the milk could not get out. After massaging and using the heat it let up a little and I was eventually able to express the trapped milk. Now I'm starting to wonder if I have an infection though because it hurts so bad.

Anyone else dealt with this? If so how long did it take for the pain to go away?

When that's happened to me, the pain is usually gone within 24-48 hours. After the pain goes away my boob has felt sore and that's why I say 24-48 hours. Try taking tylenol for the pain and keep massaging the breast and feeding from it.
