I've come across a few different older men through my work lately who basically have the same first and last name, and I just don't understand it. Did parents used to find it funny? If my last name was a male first name (my maiden name actually was!), I would surely cross off that as a first name option! They have all been much older men, think date of birth circa 1930's.
Some examples:
Rodger Rodgers
Phillip Phillips
William Williams

Cole Joseph 7/05/07

I know it's not quite the same, but I had a teacher in 8th grade named Ronald McDonald. I'm pretty sure he was born pre-Mickey D's, but it still makes me laugh.
I also knew a Donald McDonald. (McDonald was a popular name where I grew up)
I work with an Eric Erickson, and he is only in his mid-30s!
And it is not quite the same because she married into this name, but my friend's mom is Shirley McShurely.

I dated a guy with whose last name was the same as my first name. It sure is a good thing that it didn't last lol... I'm pretty sure that would have made me decide to keep my maiden name!
What an odd thing for parents to choose to do!
I know someone with this name. I always thought it was weird.
