I saw that you mentioned liking South Coast Midwifery. I've been considering a midwife/birthing center if I can get my insurance to cover it. Do you know if I just call the insurance company and ask or how that works? Thanks so much!

Re: ***5dogs***

  • You can ask your insurance company but I also suggest doing the tour at South Coast - they'll review your insurance and give you their experience with your specific plan and what will be covered, won't be, what steps to take to try and push them to cover it... my wouldn't budge but private insurance sucks like that.

It's totally worth a shot! It's an amazing place & am hoping for something similiar if we go for #2.

  • That makes sense, I'm glad they're able to go over all of the insurance information with you. Thanks for all your help!

  • Sorry for butting into your post but I donated breastmilk through SC Milk Bank/Midwifery and I can second the fact that it's a nice facility. You should definitely go check it out. GL!

  • Thanks! I'm worried that my insurance won't cover it, but I'm going to give it a try anyway :)
