equal parts water and worcestershire sauce...enough to cover the meat along with 1 very large red onion quartered....cook for at least 18 hours...the longer the better.
Drain liquid...set aside onions with a little bit of the liquid. Pull the meat apart...add Sweet Baby Rays...no other BBQ sauce will do ... put back in crockpot on low for another 2-3 hours.

My favorite verse!
I use pork shoulder and a dry rub. I usually just mix up some spices - paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt etc. Rub all over the meat the night before.
I cook in the crockpot all day and then shred when I get home. Then I pour in BBQ sauce (we like Famous Dave's) and cook for another hour or so.
I have cooked it all night before too in order to have for lunch the next day. it works great though it is weird to wake up to the smell of meat!
I also do the root beer. I usually do two cans/bottles, enough to cover the pork, and cook on low for 9-10 hours. Remove meat, shred and cover like the dickens with BBQ sauce. Tastes nothing like root beer, but I do think the brown sugar or whatever helps the taste and the moisture.
Re: Anyone have a pulled pork crockpot recipe?
This is my go-to one:

The only thing I do differently is that I use a boneless pork shoulder roast instead of pork tenderloin. Comes out perfect everytime!
I found this one before I posted here, but wondered about the root beer. Do you actually use the root beer? It seems weird. LOL
I used this recipe with the root beer and it was really good!

https://allrecipes.com/Recipe/BBQ-Pork-for-Sandwiches/Detail.aspx is my favorite - it's the part about baking for 30 minutes to get the ends crispy that makes it incredible.
I use 1/2 beef broth and 1/2 beer. And I use Sticky Fingers or Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. Serve with cole slaw, corn bread, and baked beans.
