Pregnant after a Loss

GD test ?

I have my 1-hr in the morning and I'm very nervous (I'm overweight, lots of GD and type-2 in my family).  My dr said to eat normally b/c if I didn't it was like cheating, but there would be restrictions if I have to take the 3-hr.  I just saw in a post below that some of you were told differently about what to eat before the 1-hr - what did your drs tell you to do?

And any good thoughts for tomorrow are super appreciated - I really don't want to deal with GD.

Re: GD test ?

  • I was given strict instructions not to eat anything but protein that morning.  Eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, etc.  No breads, juices, candy, etc.

    ETA: Good luck tomorrow!!!

  • Mine is tomorrow morning too!  I'm glad you asked.  I was wondering the same thing.
  • I just got an instruction sheet at today's appt. since my next appt is the GD test.

Mine says NO milk, fruit juice, fruit, cereal, gum or can.

Eat foods with protein. You may eat toast with butter but no jam, jelly or honey. You may eat ham, eggs or sandwiches. You may have bagels but no cream cheese or jelly, just butter.

    Good luck to you tomorrow!!!

  • My OB told me to eat a normal breakfast, but said to limit the refined sugars. She used the example of eating Cheerios instead of Fruit Loops.
