I just put my belly ring back in yesterday (hence, the post). It's not like I plan to show off my stetch-mark filled tummy any time soon, I just wanted to put it back in so it wouldn't permanently close and I wouldn't be stuck with a flap of skin!
Let's just say that I'm a very squeamish person and I was ready to say heck with it. The only way I could get it back in was with the ring "upside down" so that is how it will stay until I can stomach it again!
I put mine back in about a week after she was born.....as with you, not that I am thrilled with my belly at the moment, but staring at the hole on top of it was worse. Now that the ring is back in, it makes the appearance around my belly button not looked so stretched out if that makes any sense....
I took mine out about 3 years ago just because I was sick of it, so it won't be going back in after pregnancy, but I had to share this. This weekend, we were up in Milwaukee at a baseball game, & we were sitting behind these really annoying high school girls. At one point, they were all admiring each other's belly button rings, & commenting on how adorable and cute they were. DH suggested that I lift up my shirt & show them how adorable & cute those holes would look when they are 7.5 months preggo. I laughed so hard trying to imagine their looks of horror if they saw my goofy looking belly button (and imagined their tiny little bodies being stretched out like this!). lol

Same here. I took mine out about 6 years ago and never put it back in, so I won't be doing it after pregnancy. Since I had it done 16 years ago, that hole will never close up!

I took mine out almost 2 years ago because it was inflamed for some reason, then when I tried to put it back it wouldn't go in so I took it as a sign.
The scar looks ridiculous now, I have the top hole, then bottom hole, then my stretched out belly button I'll definitely be having my photogs edit the scar out for any bare belly pics (or I'll do it myself when I get them).
The only think I miss about my ring is that I used to play with it when I was nervous but it's probably better to not have that habit anymore!

I took mine out about 2 1/2 years ago, I don't think it healed up bug I am done with it. I hate the way it looks now though. The skin around the hole is all dark. I told my mom that if my sister ever talks about getting one to have her look at mine first. When I got it, I thought it would heal back up when I took it out...
I took mine out about 5 years ago. It still hasn't healed, and the holes are all stretched out and gross looking now. I only wore it for 2 years! I guess it's never going to heal completely.
I took mine out when I was student teaching bc the two pregnant ladies were comparing their huge marks from stretching out the hole. I really hoped taking it out at that point would mean *maybe* I wouldn't have to deal with it.
You just ruined my day
Just kidding, but I really wish it would close up, ffs!

It's interesting you brought this up because this past weekend at FIL's house my stepmom in law and her neighbor had just got their belly buttons re-peirced and were admiring each others. The whole time I was thinking how people would probably vomit if I had one and was showing it off. I never thought my belly looked good enough for one (plus I knew many people who had there's get infected) and now that I have an ugly surgery scar I'd never think of getting one.
Dani- You should have totally shown those girls your belly!
