Question about AR

DS was started on Zantac 1 mL twice a day about a week ago due to probable AR per the pediatrician. Prior to that my lactation consultant had told me that she though I had an "insatiable baby" meaning that my baby was reacting to the protein in the cow's milk that I was ingesting. She thought that his stomach wasn't breaking down the protein and this caused him to have a low grade tummy ache all the time which in turn caused him to be inconsolable unless he was eating or sleeping during the day. So she told me to cut out dairy and that it wouldn't be effective for about 2 weeks because that's how long it took for the dairy to get out of my system. DS was started on the Zantac (had all the classic signs of silent reflux) about 3 or 4 days after I cut out dairy. It has now been about 11 days since I've cut out dairy and about a week since DS has started Zantac and I've seen a lot of improvement. In talking with my pediatrician he made it sound like my lactation consultant was crazy to relate dairy intake to giving my son stomach aches. He said that the composition, etc. really shouldn't matter (which I don't necessarily believe). I've started slowly reintroducing DS to dairy (I used to be a huuuuge milk drinker) and he seems a little bit fussy but nothing compared to what he was. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Should I just go for it and continue eating dairy as I did before? Your opinions are much appreciated! (Sorry the post is so long!)
