What is he concerned with the follie size or your b/w? It sounds like you have a good number of follies and you are also still early. My RE won't let me trigger with more than I think 4 follies and some are even 3. It sounds like you are right in the ballpark so why is the RE not happy?

I don't know what his deal is. Seriously, I went from being very excited to red faced and sad. He just thinks they should "look better" and isn't expecting much from them. I dunno, maybe this is just his MO, but it sucks. And my estrogen was again "extremely low." I am sure this has something to do with everything, but he is in too much of a hurry to reallygo into details again.
Is it that hard to let your patients have some positive feelings?
Are there meds or supplements that you can take for the estrogen? Are there other RE's in your area that you can talk to? I would be concerned that he isn't answering your questions. Don't give up yet - it's still early.

RE just called to discuss today's ultrasound and blood work. Estrogen is still on the very low end, but said there is nothing to do about it and all is dependant upon my injections. Then came the follie progress discussion. He is happy with larger one, but went on to say "we just can't get you to grow multiples!" As in, he isn't happy with the two smaller follies. He has lowered my dosage from 225 to 150 for the next two nights to see if we can give the two smaller ones a chance to grow. I asked if there is any hope and he said there is always hope, however this was said in a not so positive tone. So my bubble just got a leak in it. Let's hope that we have more progress on Friday.
WTF?? Is there another doctor you can see? I wish you had someone more positive.
I am going to one of the best places in our area. He lacks bedside manners. My husband works for our school district. One of his kid's parents went to him and said the same about him. Guess you can be an ass when you are popular.

I haven't given up, it just sucks to feel like this over and over. If we want to discuss this more I have to make another appointment. It was actually odd that he personally called me and not the nurse.
Seems pretty early in the game to be throwing in the towel. Maybe it was the way he phrased it that seemed negative?
I am not throwing in the towel and am still hoping for the best. The end of the conversation was if we fail this one again, IUI isn't for us and our next option is IVF. Am I repeating myself?
Last time, he didn't like the look of any of your follies and you ended up with one good one. I hope he's just as wrong this time and you end up with multiple.
I don't know sweets - I still really like the fact that you have 5 (even if 2 are way too tiny - it means you are reacting to the meds well) - and to have one that large already? I've been lucky to have that close to my trigger itself!
if your estrogen is low why isn't he giving you something for it?
I know I'm full of unanswered questions - but I want you to keep up a good hope here - the stress doesn't help!
also, my RE has no bed side manner - a total "mechanic" approach - he is a scientist, there to "fix" the problem and not hold your hand. for the most part I hate him for this - but he is really really well regarded and good at what he does. . . .so keep that in mind.

I agree with the other ladies. I think it's good that you're RE is lowering the dose to allow you to coast along with the larger follie, and letting the other's catch up.
There really isn't anything they can do about the E2. That pretty much is what it is. Was there anything up with your baseline E2? Was it low? Was there any problem last time?

I'm sorry, that stinks. I hope that his attitude improves a bit. It doesn't help anyone for him to be negative. Hugs.

if your estrogen is low why isn't he giving you something for it?
He said there isn't anything to take that will make any difference and it all depends on my injections to make up for it.
I know I'm full of unanswered questions - but I want you to keep up a good hope here - the stress doesn't help!
Thank you, sweets
are you charting this month too?
I quit charting, I don't need the added stress to all of this. The uninterrupted sleep is much better for my head.
The RE is correct. FWIW, the E2 level is indicative of how many follies are growing. Most RE's like to see it above 200 to show that at least 1 follie is doing what it should. What was your level, do you remember?
I am so sorry this is hard! I understand exactly how hard it gets, but remember it is just as easy to get KU with 1 follie and I don't think you are out yet at all.

Thanks, Laura. This is what leads me to be my problem is with getting pregnant in the first place. What do you think? I never produce a mature follicle on my own, right? Therefore you will not get pregnant no matter how hard you try on your own.
