At my appointment today, my doctor was shocked that I'd progressed from "closed up tight" to 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced in a week. The HB sounded great, but when he asked if she's been active, I told him I had a busy morning and hadn't really noticed much movement. So he had me go home and lay down and drink some cold juice and if she doesn't move to call back... so after an hour of laying down and one or two "possible" kicks (which I think were actually contractions, not baby movements), I called back and he told me to head to L&D to be checked. While I was on the phone on hold with the doctor, I peed and there was a quarter sized amount of blood in the toilet and lots on the toilet paper, so they said that's most likely from the internal, but they'll check everything out at the hospital.
So now I'm waiting for DH to get home (hopefully in the next 10-15 minutes) to head to L&D. Should I bring our hospital bags just in case? Or is that unnecessary? I asked the doctor to make a guess as to how long before I go into labor and he said "the better part of a week", but I guess it can't hurt to be safe?
Re: Headed to L&D
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
Good luck! Hopefully little one is fine, and either you're heading into labor or they clear you and send you home.
I'd bring your hospital bag, just to be on the safe side. Leave it in the car, and DH can go out and get it if you get admitted!
Glad to hear you've had progress!! gives me a little hope lol hope everything works out great and everything checks out in L&D!! Good luck!!
That sounds scary - I'd take hospital bags if it were me (think of it as insurance that you wont need them).
GL & sending you T&P!
I would bring your bag - it can't hurt! Don't forget your mouthpiece
I hope things go well !!
Haha! Thanks for reminding me! I'm keeping it in my purse from now on!!!
