New Neighbor Gesture?

What would you take a new neighbor? Would you just go over and introduce yourself, let them know to ask if they ever need anything? Baked good? Like the poster the other day maybe it should be something store bought...Houseplant?  Somebody help.  I'm just now learning how to be an adult!  LOL!

    Make them a batch of cookies and take them over.  Just say hi and drop them off.  Don't go in and sit down for a visit.  Leave them you # and get theirs.  If you like them, call them in a couple of weeks and invite them over for dinner.

    We had a new neighbor move in across the street not to long ago and I took her some cookies from Publix.  However, I took them out of the packaging and put them on a pretty plate first.  I also gave her my number and told her that she could call us with any questions or if she needed us anytime.

    I think any gesture would be welcome...especially baked goodies! We've been living in our house for a year and our neighbors have yet to even wave when we see them outside.
