Tummy Time

Karter hates it.  Cries the whole time she is on her tummy.  I let her cry for about a minute, then pick her up.

Are there any tricks to get her to like it?  Or is she doomed to have a flat head and no upper body strength?

Put her chest down on your chest or your dh's..usually they are game for this and you can make silly faces,read or play peek a boo.

Austin hated tummy time when he was KiKi's age. We did what Dex suggested, We just put him on our chest and talked to him, or sang to him.

I agree with the tummy time on your chest or even across your lap if she'll tolerate that. When Baby J was this age I did both of those and also would put her on her chest on the boppy (boppy under the armpits) and put her on the couch. I'd sit on the floor with my hand on her back and would make faces, rattle things etc to keep her entertained. She never lasted more than 5 minutes but at that age that's all they need (a few times a day).

Thanks ladies!  I brought it up at Mommy & Me today too.  Basically, they all said the same things.  But I heard really good things about using the boppy during tummy time.  So I will be glad to get that use.
