I have reuglar organic applesauce, is that ok to give lo in her cereal? it doen't have any other ingredients.... She's had gerber apple sauce before so I know she isn't allergic to it. Just didn't know if the actual baby food is different?
I'm planning to do the same thing. Just make sure there's no added salt or sugars to the regular variety. May not be listed as ingredients, but check the nutritional content.

What PP said - as long as there is nothing extra in it. Also, it's a little chunkier than stage 1 or 2 applesauce. So just keep that in mind in case your LO can't handle a thick texture yet.

awesome thanks! she prefers her cereal to be a bit thicker so I'm thinking it will be ok. I will check out the nutritional ingredients! Thanks again
We've been giving the regular "natural" applesauce for 2 months. As long as it's not sweetened or has cinnamon, it's fine. Plus, it's WAY cheaper to buy a big jar of that, than baby food. It keeps for quite a while in the fridge so you don't have to give it to them every single day
I mixed some applesauce with some mashed up avocado and DD loved it. Like what others have said, just make sure there is sugar mixed in. I think mine only has added ascorbic acid (Vit. C)
