What's the best age for a baby at Disney land?

Baby #2 is due a month after dd turns 4. We were planning on taking dd to Disneyland at age 5. The baby will be 12-18 mos when we go. I'm wondering if that's an ok age or if we should take dd around 4.5 which will put the baby 6 mos or so. My grandparents and some friends are going with us. My grandparents will take the kids one night so dh and I can go out to dinner and walk the park with our friends. Then one day the guys will take the kids fir a few hrs then another day the girls will take the kids so everyone will get sometime kid free and I'm sure our friends and grandparents will go off on their own and dh and I will take the kids alone. Just wondering what the best age for the baby would be to go.

  • Not a Disney expert, but I think I would rather taken an 18 month old than a 6 month old. You would have to pack less babu items and the 18 month old would be able to enjoy the sights and maybe ride some rides.
  • My ds was 16 months and it was awful.  There's nothing for the little ones to do.  There's not even a patch of grass for them to safely sit on or crawl around.  And there's no way you can let them out of their stroller because it is so vast you could lose sight of them in a second (unless you use a leash).  I would do it with a 6 month old or a 2.5 yo.  But not a mobile toddler ever again.  On the bright side, my 4.5 yo dd was in heaven!

  • We took DS at 8 months and DD at 11 months.  I personally thought they were both good ages.  By 8 months DS could go on most everything other than the big rides, he slept in the stroller, didn't want to walk, and more or less only nursed.  At 11 months DD was more of a mover, she was on mostly solids but she did sleep and could go on all rides.  I think 6 months might be a little easier, but i don't think either would be a bad age.

  • DS absolutely loved Disney at 18 mo.
