How early in your cycle do you ovulate?
What did your doctor say early ovulation had to do with egg quality?
Does early ovulation always come with high estrogen?
I ask because I usually ovulate around day 13 of my cycle. And it's not uncommon for me to ovulate on day 12 of my cycle. I've been guessing that that's in the realm of normal, but since I'm on cycle 14 of TTCAL I'm starting to reconsider. Anything that you can tell me will be awesome. I am so excited for your plan! And twins are.... I don't think there's a word for "this is the best thing ever!" mixed with "Oh sweet Jesus, please NO!" But if there is, that's it. I nannied (nannyed?) for twins from the time they were 2 weeks old until one year. It was exhausting and awesome.
Re: Hey Allison- Prepare to be interrogated
Fire away, but I am going to be of little to no help.
I don't chart :::ducks::: so we are basing the assumption of early ovulation on my base line levels and also some math involving when I conceived with my first and third losses (going over u/s records and betas vs. when I got positive HPTs and when we had sex that could have even led to conception).
And by "early" she thinks we are taking cd 11 or 12 - not THAT early, generally speaking, but early enough as my cycles are consitently 28-9 days and I do seem to ovulate each time.
Because my base line - taken at CD 3 - showed elevated estrogen levels, and estrogen peeks at ovulation, that is where they are getting the idea of the early ovulation. So I think yes, elevated estrogen is an indicator for early ovulation a lot of the time.
This then can mean eggs that are of "poor quality" or not matured enough are being released. That seems to satisfy her confusion to the genetic complications we experienced with the third pregnancy (and possibly the first), as Trisomy 16 is not believed to be effected by MTHFR, but could absolutly be blamed on issues with the quality of the egg.
It's all kind of circular and weird, and I need to have some more sessions with Doc Google and Doc Information Packets. But it makes sense, kind of...for a minute, and then I lose the thread again.
I hope that helped and wasn't totally wrong info because I somehow crossed my wires.
