Trying to Get Pregnant

Spotting vs. light start to period?

When is spotting no longer spotting and it becomes a light start to your period?

I don't have "flow" per se, but I do need a liner. And I saw some clots (as with period flow).

So...light period or spotting?

  • For me I move from spotting to light when I need to wear something. Usually my spotting is just on the TP after going to the bathroom and nothing on the underware.

  • When it turns red is when I consider it the beginning of my period.  I can have brownish spotting that I need to wear a panty liner for that I don't consider the beginning of my period.

I agree. When it's red and showing up on a liner/pad, then I mark CD1.

  • I mark it as CD1 when it's red and needs more than a pantyliner...

This.  I spot for 2-3 days before I actually get my period.  The first day of red flow is CD1.

  • Okay, thanks ladies. I'll stick with spotting for now. It isn't red and I don't necessarily need the liner. It's more for laundry's sake. Ugh.
