Am I the only one who finds this to be terribly insulting? I cringe when someone says this. You're a stay at home mom. I'm pretty sure all moms are full-time moms.

Yeah, it's a little silly.  It's not insulting to me really.  I just think the person saying it is a little out of touch with reality.

I sometimes jokingly say I'm a part- time mom becuase work days do sometimes feel like a day off from mommyhood. I would never give someone else that label and of course I'm a mother all the time. 24-7.

Well, I get why it makes you cringe...but I also don't love "stay at home mom" any better.  I don't work, I spend all my time with my kids, not sure what's the least offensive way to say that.  Maybe domestic engineer   Kidding, but we surely don't stay at home on almost any given day!

I sort of don't like either name...If I worked I am not sure i'd consider myself a full-time Mommy--because well I'd be spending 10hours a day being an Architect & not doing anything Mommy related most of my waking hours...I don't work but I also don't really consider myself a stay-at-home Mom either...as I am not "staying at home" all day either.

Yeah, I hate that.  When I hear someone say that I usually just figure they need to give themselves a title to justify their own issues.

I hate the term "mommy" as used by any adult.  It makes me cringe.

I agree with this. I work full time and still consider myself a full time mom. I would assume anyone calling themselves a "full time mommy" is one of those types who thinks she's better than other moms bc she doesn't work.
